About STET
Why STET?
STET is the editing club at BYU. We seek to help our members improve their editing skills and connect with editing opportunities both on and off campus. In the editing world, “STET” means “keep the original text.” It comes from the Latin word that means “let it stand,” and it instructs editors or typesetters to ignore other editing marks and leave the text as it is.
What do we do?
In STET, we provide students with peer workshops, industry panels, internship preparation, and real-world editing projects. Students sharpen their grammar, style, and editorial judgment while networking with professionals and each other. If you have an interest in editing, writing, fact-checking, or learning something new, we would love to see you at our monthly club meetings! You can find information regarding events on our website or our Instagram page.
